Mr Gurhan Ercelik
Languages: English, Turkish
Mr Gurhan Ercelik is from the city Denizli in Western Turkey. He studied Science Education in the Faculty of Education at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He then completed a Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction at the North American University in Texas, USA.
Teaching science and physics has brought him to different schools around the globe. Previously, he taught in Kenya at Light Academy International School, at Salahaldin International School in Egypt, at SMA Banua Bilingual School in Indonesia and at Horizon International School in Vietnam. In his teaching style, Mr Ercelik aims to engage students, help them try and experience what they are studying and guide them in their journey of exploring the wonders of Science.
Ms Constantina Filios
Languages: English, Romanian, French and Swedish
Ms Constantina Filios lives in Jönköping and is a foreign certified teacher holding a degree in Pedagogical studies – Psychopedagogic module as well as a degree in Hydro Power Engineering from the Faculty of Power Engineering at the University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania.
She has devoted herself to teaching Mathematics and making a difference in the next generations’ education and development. Ms Filios was born and raised in Romania and for the past few years she has worked as a Teaching Assistant and Lecturer at Jönköping International Business School and Teacher at Internationella Engelska Skolan in Jönköping. In August, she joined our team as Mathematics teacher.
Ms Rebecka Szemenkar

Ms Rebecka Szemenkar is a certified teacher in the subjects of Social Studies, Swedish, English and Mathematics. She also currently pursuing a certification as a Special Education teacher. She lives and has worked in Växjö kommun as a special education teacher for the past year. Her prior teaching experience includes the International English School in Hässleholm as well as the International School in Älmhult.
In her new roll, she is looking forward to working together with her colleagues to create a good support system for the students at Nordic International School Kronoberg. She is a firm believer in the importance of structure in the academic environment and is looking forward to this aspect of working with students at Nordic. She is excited to bring her experience working with special education to our school this fall.
Mr Stephen Elliott
Languages: English, Irish
Mr Stephen Elliott lives in Malmö and is a qualified teacher who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University College Dublin, the Republic of Ireland, in both history and English.
He has also completed a Master of Arts in International Relations and a Higher Diploma in Education. He has taught to a variety of international students in Croatia, Spain, Portugal and Sweden. For the past six years he has worked as a teacher in Lund. In August you will meet him as your new English and Social Studies teacher at Nordic International School Kronoberg.
Ms Görel Kumerius
Languages: English, Swedish
Ms Görel Kumerius was born in Stockholm (Ekerö) and moved to Vadstena in 1993. Initially, she trained as a nurse but later retrained as a textile teacher and studied textiles at Vadstena Folk High School. Previously, she worked as a textile teacher in Vadstena but moved to Växjö 5 years ago.
In recent years, she has worked as a textile teacher at Växjö Montessori School. This August, she is looking forward to meeting new students as a teacher in textile handicraft.
Ms Johanna Skagert
Languages: Swedish and English
Ms Johanna Skagert is a certified teacher who holds a teaching degree from Linneaus University in Växjö. She is certified to teach Swedish, English, maths and social sciences from years 3 – 6. She was born and grew up close to Växjö but now lives inside of Växjö city.
For the past few years she has worked as a teacher at Vederslöv skola and taught the years 4-6. She will be joining the teaching staff at Nordic International School Kronoberg this August.
Ms Stefani Ijou
Languages: English, Swedish, French, Arabic
Ms Stefani Ijou is joining our staff as the Administrator for Nordic International School Kronoberg. She has a background in marketing and customer service and worked in the Digital Marketing sector in Dubai, UAE for the past 10 years. She is a passionate believer in the international system, and the inherent skills the qualification offers.
Ms Ijou was born in Gävle, Sweden and earned her BA in Communication in Public Relations from American University of Technology in Beirut, Lebanon. You will often meet Ms Ijou at Nordic because she is a part of our front desk team. She will be handling the school’s administration and be a helpful point of contact for students and parents.
Ms Victoria Hagberg

Ms Victoria Hagberg is a certified principal and teacher of Swedish, English and French. Ms Hagberg holds a teaching degree from Linneaus University where she majored in Swedish, French and English and she has also completed the national program to become a certified principal at the University of Umeå.
Ms Hagberg lives in Växjö, in the same city where she studied to become a teacher. For the past four years Ms Hagberg has worked as Principal and Assistant Principal at Vislandaskolan and before that she was a teacher at Kronoberg Skola for 17 years. Ms Hagberg has a genuine passion for teaching and education and, starting in August, she will be the Assistant Principal at Kronoberg Skola and Nordic International School Kronoberg.
